Marginalia Press Publisher is a private tool. It exists to publish one publisher’s own videos to that same publisher’s own accounts — nothing else, for no one else.

Scope Who this covers, and who it does not.

1. What this software is

Marginalia Press Publisher is an internal, single-operator application. It uploads video files produced by Marginalia Press to the Marginalia Press accounts on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, at pre-set times.

It has no users other than its operator. It is not distributed, not offered as a service, and cannot be signed into by anyone else. There is no public interface, no registration, and no customer.

Data Everything the application touches, in full.

2. What data is accessed and stored

The application accesses only the operator’s own accounts, through each platform’s official API, using access tokens the operator granted directly.

The complete list. There are no other categories.

Nothing is transmitted anywhere else

Data is exchanged only between the operator’s computer and the platform whose content is being published. There is no server belonging to Marginalia Press, no third-party analytics, and no telemetry.

Limits Stated plainly, because absence is the point.

3. What the application never does

  • It does not collect, store or process data about any other person.
  • It does not read followers’ profiles, messages, comments or contact details.
  • It does not sell, rent, share or disclose data to anyone.
  • It does not use data for advertising, profiling or training models.
  • It does not set cookies or track visitors — this page included.
  • It does not publish to any account other than the operator’s own.
Disclosure A standing rule, not a setting.

4. Synthetic media

Marginalia Press videos use a synthetic narration voice and AI-assisted production. Every video is declared as such on every platform, using each platform’s own disclosure mechanism where one exists, and in the caption where none does.

The quotations themselves are not generated. Each is transcribed from a published public-domain edition and verified word for word against the original text before use.

Third parties Their terms govern their side.

5. Platforms involved

Publishing necessarily sends content to the platform being published to. Each platform’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that content once received:

Use of the YouTube Data API is additionally subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Retention How long, and how to end it.

6. Keeping and deleting

Tokens are kept only while the connection is in use, and are replaced when they expire. Publication records are kept for as long as the channels operate, because they are the operator’s own publishing history.

The operator may revoke the application’s access at any time from the security settings of each platform, which immediately and permanently ends all access. Deleting the local files removes every remaining record.

Terms Conditions of use of the software itself.

7. Terms of use

The application is operated solely by Marginalia Press, for Marginalia Press. No licence, warranty or right of use is granted to any third party. It is provided without warranty of any kind.

The operator undertakes to use each platform’s API in accordance with that platform’s developer terms and community guidelines, to publish only content it holds the rights to, and to disclose synthetic media as described in section 4.

Content published through the application consists of quotations from works in the public domain, together with original commentary, original narration, and licensed or public-domain visual material, each credited in the accompanying description.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy may be sent to alexis.banneux.1@gmail.com, the address registered as the application contact with both Meta and TikTok.

Requests concerning data held by a platform about an account should be addressed to that platform directly, since this application holds no such data.
